Laingsburg Area Food Bank

Laingsburg United Methodist Church hosts the Laingsburg Area Food Bank in our building. The Food Bank "seeks to bring a measure of love and peace through sharing the blessings of food and other resources with those who are in need."

Receiving Food

To receive food, you will need a Laingsburg mailing address. No personal identification or income verification is required. Clients have been able to receive food up to 12 times per calendar year. For the latest guidelines, please check the Laingsburg Area Food Bank Facebook page.

Please don't hesitate to come. Needing help with groceries is nothing to be ashamed of, and the volunteers who serve at the Food Bank are glad to see you.

How to Donate

• By check: Donations may be made out to the Laingsburg Area Food Bank and sent to Laingsburg United Methodist Church, 210 N. Crum Street, Laingsburg, MI 48848.
• Online: You may donate electronically via PayPal.
• Food and supplies: Non-perishable food items or personal care items may be brought to the church during office hours (Monday–Thursday, 9:30 am–2:30 pm).

Most Helpful Items

Food banks generally appreciate shelf-stable staples that make complete meals, such as canned vegetables, fruit and protein (tuna, chicken, beans), peanut butter, pasta and sauce, rice, cereal and soup. Personal care items like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and feminine products are often in short supply because they cannot be bought with food assistance benefits. Please check expiration dates and avoid glass jars when possible.

Volunteering

The Food Bank runs on the time and care of volunteers who sort donations, stock shelves and welcome clients. If you would like to help, contact the Food Bank through its Facebook page or send the church a message through our contact page. For more ideas, read our guide on how to help your local food bank.

The Food Bank is part of our wider commitment to service in the Laingsburg community, alongside programs like Money 4 Meals and the Midwest Mission rice meal kit assembly listed on our Ministries page.
