Service

Being the hands and feet of Christ in Laingsburg and around the world.

"The greatest among you must become like a person of lower status and the leader like a servant... I am among you as one who serves."Luke 22:26-27 (CEB)

Christian service demonstrates Jesus' love and compassion for all of God's children and creation. Through service, we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world and community around us. Through mission, giving, and attending to the needs of others, we meet God where God is already present.

John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, taught that faith and good works belong together. Methodists have always cared for the hungry, the sick and the poor as a natural expression of their love for God. You can read more about this heritage in our article on John Wesley's three simple rules.

Serving Beyond Laingsburg

As a United Methodist congregation, we are connected to churches across Michigan and around the world. Through our shared giving and through hands-on projects such as hygiene kits and meal packing, our members support disaster relief, hunger ministries and mission work far beyond our town. When disasters strike, United Methodists respond together through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
