Children's Ministries
Children are always welcome in worship here at Laingsburg United Methodist Church!
At Laingsburg UMC we believe the church is a place where everyone belongs, including our youngest members. Rather than sending children away, we invite them to experience worship with their families and to discover that God loves them just as they are. Jesus said, "Allow the children to come to me. Don't forbid them, because God's kingdom belongs to people like these" (Mark 10:14, CEB).
"The Prayground"
Children are welcome to come forward (or remain with their parents) for a brief children's message during worship. There is also a special, comfy "prayground" in the sanctuary where children can be children, while parents remain nearby and fully participate in worship. Quiet toys, books and activities help little hands stay busy while little ears are still listening.
Family Space
Just outside the sanctuary, the Family Space is an unattended room designed for families. It offers comfortable seating, a changing table, age-appropriate toys and a child-friendly restroom. Parents and guardians are asked to stay with their children while using the room and are always welcome to return to the sanctuary at any time.
Your Family, Your Church
Our pamphlet "Your Family, Your Church", found in the pews, helps parents guide children through the worship service, answers common questions and introduces our building. We encourage you to help your children pray, listen, sing, watch and do the things you are doing during the service. They learn worship by experiencing it alongside you.
