Bible Study and Book Study

Learning together is one of the best ways to grow in faith. Our adult studies are open to everyone, whether you have read the Bible for decades or are just getting started. Current studies, times and books are listed on our Ministries page, including the Thursday morning book study and an adult Bible study that has met online.

All are welcome! You can join at any time. If a study meets on Zoom, please contact the church office ahead of time for the link. New to reading Scripture? Our guide on how to start reading the Bible is a great companion.

Small Group Ministries

Our small group ministries here at Laingsburg United Methodist Church are designed to help our members grow in their faith and spirituality. Gathering together in small groups is a practice that goes back all the way to the first Christians nearly 2,000 years ago. Together, our small groups pray, discuss their faith and hopes, and enjoy their time and interests together. If you are interested in any of the following groups, please contact the church office to be connected with their coordinators.

Prayer Group

Each Sunday, at approximately 9:40 am, a group of church members gathers in the church library to share a short time of prayer. Everyone is welcome to add any joy or concern they have. This is a no-pressure group that is there simply to lift one another and the church in prayer.

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith is a local group of women who are passionate about Christian mission and service. They meet at the church on the second Tuesday of each month at 10 am and welcome any other women who might like to join them.

United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.UWF Purpose Statement – uwfaith.org

Quilters

The quilting group at Laingsburg UMC is sponsored by United Women in Faith and invites all who have a passion for, or interest in, quilting to come and make quilts for ministry, mission and the joy of the art. The quilters meet in the Fellowship Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 10 am.

Second Sunday Breakfast Club

On the second Sunday of each month, the church gathers in the Fellowship Hall at 9 am to enjoy a hearty breakfast and a time of fellowship before worship. The breakfast is free and open to all!

Tuesdays at Twilliger's
