Laingsburg United Methodist Church is offering a special multi-media series this Advent season to showcase new and unique ways to worship and minister to the community. Outside the Box: The Gift That Can't Be Contained, starts with the congregation's 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Nov. 27 and will continue each Sunday thereafter through Christmas.
As part of the United Methodist Church's Rethink Church initiative, LUMC is inviting its neighbors to unwrap the story of Jesus' birth and experience anew Love personified. The four-week, lectionary-based series will guide participants through contemplating ancient scriptures and Christmas traditions, and relating to the transformative experiences of Christ's birth throughout humanity. Working with the themes expectations, acceptance, family and yourself, the series will challenge people to go outside the box to find those who have been forgotten, ignored or turned away from life's inns.
