Staff & Lay Leaders
Pastor Dulworth joined LUMC in July 2006 after serving United Methodist congregations in the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin. He is married to Dawn and has one Dalmation.

Pastor received his Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2000 and became an Ordained Elder of the United Methodist Church's Detroit Annual Conference in 2003. He is the spiritual co-dean of Camp Michigamme and is the vice-chair of the Flint District Committee on Ordained Ministry, among many other leadership positions.

In his spare time, Pastor Dulworth enjoys fishing, turkey hunting, cooking, Lake Superior views, the outdoors and Emerging Church initiatives.

Jan Holyfield serves as the official lay leader for Laingsburg UMC. In this capacity, she assists the pastor with parts of the Sunday services and has a standing position on all committees and work areas of the church. She also provides leadership to other lay leaders within the church who have undergone training for certification in Methodist lay leadership.

Jan and her husband, Jeff, have three daughters, Christine, Maddie and Tori, and have been members of LUMC for more than 20 years.

Sarah Asiala, Administrative Assistant

Sarah joined LUMC in March 2010. She brings a wealth of administrative and technology related experience to the church.  She resides in St. Johns, MI, along with her husband Doug & 2 children; Kaytlyn, age 15, Luke age 5, and St. Bernard dog, Teddy.   Together they have served the Lord in many capacities and towns.  They most recently worked at Loon Lake Lutheran Retreat Center in Hale, MI as Camp Managers for 6 years.

Sarah recieved her Associates of Arts degree from Rochester College (formally Michigan Christian) in 1991.  She then went onto Pivot Point Academy, Troy, MI,  where she recieved her Cosmetology degree & then liscence.  She practiced Cosmetology for 7 years, until her arm wore out, and then pursued clerical & other customer service vocations.

Sarah was raised in the Lutheran Church ELCA, with her father being a Minister.  She has also been a member of the United Methodist Church several times in her life in Michigan & Ohio.  She has volunteered on church boards and worked with youth.  Her dream was always to work as a church secretary, enjoying her time in her father's office as a child.

Now, she is enjoying serving the Lord here, at LUMC.  The family of Christ has been very warm & welcoming.  She looks forward to growing together with them.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."
